The School of Nursing adheres to a model of shared governance. The purposes of the
Shared Governance Council are to (1) advise the Dean and Leadership Team on activities
of the School of Nursing; (2) promote democratic discussion and decision-making on
academic and professional issues; (3) provide an opportunity for all members to contribute
to the development and work of the School of Nursing; and (4) promote shared governance
as a commitment for faculty, staff, and administration to work together to strengthen
and enhance the quality and accountability of the educational process.
Student Members of Shared Governance Councils
Each of the governing Councils will select students who are in good academic standing. Students will not be voting members of the Councils but are valued Council members
to provide input from the students’ perspective.
