Curriculum

Through a comprehensive core coupled with a specialized major, the four-year Bachelor of Business Administration prepares you for management, executive or expert roles across multiple industries and organizations. In your first two years, UT Tyler’s Core Curriculum broadens your horizons and helps build your skills in areas like writing and public speaking. The pre-business core, also taken during your first two years, provides vital background in topics including economics and information systems.

As you progress into BBA core courses, an understanding of finance, management, operations and marketing creates the foundation for your selected major.

For admissions decisions in general:

  • UT Tyler automatically accepts students from the Top 25% of graduating classes in Texas.
  • Students from the 2nd to 4th quartiles must have a 2.75 or higher GPA.

The Soules College of Business automatically admits all incoming students who meet UT Tyler’s admission criteria for ACT/SAT scores and high school ranking. After completing all core requirements, you then select from the majors of accounting, finance, management or marketing to finish the BBA program.

If you do not meet the requirements for automatic admission, you must:

  • Apply to the Soules College of Business once reaching sophomore status and having completed a minimum of 15 credit hours at UT Tyler, or
  • Transfer 30 or more semester hours from an accredited institution with a 2.0 or higher GPA.
