Curriculum

HRD majors start with a common business core providing general knowledge of all functional areas. During this sequence, students learn how to manage and motivate people and how to balance the needs of customers and clients, employees, managers and constituents. The program additionally requires a business administration minor.

What Can You Do With a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Development?

With an HRD degree, you can find a position in a wide variety of business, nonprofit, educational and governmental settings. Possible career paths in public or private industry include human resource coordination and supervisory roles, training, consulting, talent development, advising and coaching.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects employment for human resources managers to grow by 7% through 2031, with about 16,300 openings for human resources managers expected each year, on average, during the decade.

A master’s degree or certification may be required for more advanced positions.
