Prohibited Items
- Hoodies/jackets - allowed after inspection by Testing Center staff, unless otherwise prohibited
- Hats/caps * - except for religious purposes
- Cellular phones/pager, beepers, walkie talkies, PDAs, or wireless communication devices (must be turned off, not on silent)
- Tobacco products
- Watches *
- Calculators*
- Purses
- Laptops *
- Ipods/MP3 players
- Backpacks, fanny packs, purses, wallets, outdoor wear and other personal items
- Non-medical electronic devices
- Food and drinks *
- Textbook/Notebook/Study Guides *

- Thumb/Flash Drives
- Glasses with internet connectivity and/or AI technology

We do have lockers available for storage of your personal belongings while you test.
Accommodated Testing Policies
By requesting Alternative Testing, which means taking your tests in the Testing Center, you agree to the following conditions:
- Schedule exams through your SAR Profile at least 3 business days Before Exam Date
and Final exams 5 weekdays prior to the beginning of Final Exam week.
- An exam scheduled less than the required days in advance are considered Late Requests and will require a meeting with the SAR office for assistance in scheduling the remainder of your exams. A late exam may or may not be approved depending on space availability.
- Same-day walk-in exam requests will not be allowed and you will be referred back to your instructor.
- Choose the Appropriate Time to Take Your Exam
- Exams are to be scheduled on the date and time that the class will be taking the exam,
exceptions include:
- You have back-to-back classes before and/or after the class with an exam/quiz. In this case, the start time will be 30 minutes to 1 hour prior to or after the regular class time, or after your last back-to-back class on that same day.
- Medical/Crisis/Emergency - must provide documentation to SAR Director.
- Athletics or other Official School Absence - must provide out of town schedule to Testing Center at least one week before the original exam date.
- Contact the SAR Office immediately if any of these situations applies to you or you’re having trouble scheduling exams.
- Exams are to be scheduled on the date and time that the class will be taking the exam,
exceptions include:
- Show Up ON TIME
- If you show up more than 15 mins late you will not be allowed to take the exam in the Testing Center. You will be referred back to your instructor. If approved, the instructor will need to notify the staff in the SAR Office or Testing Center in via email or by phone call.
- All re-schedule requests must comply with SAR and Testing Center policies.
- WE WILL NOT RE-SCHEDULE AN EXAM WITHOUT PROFESSOR'S APPROVAL.
- There may be other specific policies and procedures required of your course or program
not listed here. These are specified by the faculty.
- Nursing's policies can be found on their website.
- Student will leave all personal belongings in a locker provided by the Testing Center.
All electronic devices, cell phones, bags, purses, unauthorized papers, and other
prohibited items must be placed in a locker before entering the testing room.
- If asked, students will consent to emptying out pockets or sleeves of all clothing.
Leaving the Testing Center with any form of test questions, answers, scratch paper or any personal notes taken during the exam is prohibited and considered a form of cheating.
Honor Code: I understand that taking an exam before or after others have taken the exam carries with it the responsibility under the Honor Code of ensuring the confidentiality of the exam. By taking my exams/quizzes in the Testing Center, I am agreeing that I will not in any way whatsoever make known to any other person any portion of the content of this exam until all students in the class have taken the exam. To receive or give unauthorized aid is cheating and is a violation of the Honor Code and subject to disciplinary action by the University of Texas at Tyler.
