Student Counseling Center

The University of Texas at Tyler

With the ongoing events in Texas surrounding Hurricane Harvey and the historical flooding of so many communities, the Student Counseling Center wants to remind all students, faculty, and staff that we are available as a resource for students dealing with this tragedy. Dealing with the immediate impact of this event and managing the long term consequences can be difficult and may create problems for students adjusting to the resulting changes.

We are available for individual counseling, group sessions, and consultation. Students may call for an appointment or walk-in during regular office hours. All services are confidential and covered under student fees. We may see the impact of this on others around us and the Behavioral Intervention Team is also available as resource to reach out to those who may be struggling. The Crisis Line is another resource that is accessible 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for those who may need emotional support. Feel free to contact us with questions or concerns.

The UT Tyler Student Counseling Center promotes student success by facilitating personal and academic growth, contributing to lifelong learning. The center serves students through personal counseling, crisis management and advocacy, and provides resources and consultative services to the campus community.
