Student Counseling Center

Outreach for Student Well-Being

The Student Counseling Center is committed to providing education and outreach opportunities that raise awareness, reduce stigma about mental health concerns, address barriers to student success, and support the overall mental health and well-being of the UT Tyler campus.  We provide programs, workshops, collaborative outreach, self-help resources, and consultation to the campus community.

The Student Counseling Center is available as a resource for UT Tyler faculty, staff and student groups.  We may be of assistance to you in the following ways:

  • Giving presentations to a class, residence hall, student organization or faculty/staff group
  • Providing suicide prevention training
  • Responding to students in distress workshops
  • Offering trainings and presentations on various mental health and wellness issues including stress management, listening and communication skills, study and test taking skills, time management, body image, anxiety, depression, etc.
  • Campus-Wide Wellness Wednesday events
  • DeStress Fest events held at the end of each semester

These services are available after regular business hours as needed.
