Dr. Tiya Johnson is a triple board-certified psychiatrist in adult, child and adolescent, and forensic psychiatry. She serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine and holds the Robert M. Rogers Distinguished Chair in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the UT Tyler School of Medicine, where she also directs both the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship and the Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship.

“Every patient deserves individualized care that considers all aspects of their life,” says Dr. Johnson. “I believe in treating the whole person—not just the diagnosis—so that lasting healing and growth can occur.”

Her academic and clinical interests focus on child and adolescent psychiatry and forensic psychiatry, with a passion for advancing psychiatric education, mentoring future physicians, and improving access to quality mental health care across East Texas and beyond.

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Johnson enjoys mentoring, community service, and dancing, finding joy in building meaningful connections that foster growth, confidence, and well-being.
