Biography

Dr. Michele Marjason is a dedicated educator and researcher with over two decades of experience in the field of special education. Her career is defined by a deep commitment to student advocacy, data-driven assessment, and the continuous improvement of pedagogical practices.

Professional Experience

Dr. Marjason’s experience spans 26 years of impactful service to the community. Her career began in the classroom, where she spent 13 years as a Special Education teacher, working across all grade levels. This foundational experience provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the diverse developmental and academic needs of students from early childhood through secondary education.
Transitioning from the classroom to administration and assessment, she served as an Educational Diagnostician for 13 years. In this role, she specialized in identifying student needs and bridging the gap between clinical evaluation and classroom implementation. Her instructional background also includes specialized experience in early childhood education, having taught Kindergarten within the education department of a private school.

Academic Background & Research

In 2021, Dr. Marjason earned her Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) from Grand Canyon University. Her doctoral work and ongoing research interests are focused on critical issues within the special education landscape, including:
• Disproportionality: Analyzing and addressing the overrepresentation or underrepresentation of specific student populations in special education eligibility.
• Autism Spectrum Disorders: Enhancing support systems and outcomes for neurodivergent learners.
• Professional Practice: Investigating methods to refine and improve the efficacy of educational diagnosticians in the field.
Currently, Dr. Marjason leverages her extensive field experience and academic rigor to contribute to the next generation of educators, focusing on improving educational practices and ensuring equitable access to learning for all students.
