Career-Ready Microcredential

What is a microcredential?

A microcredential is a verified credential earned when learners demonstrate what they know and are able to perform related to a specific subject. They show their understanding through evidence and application.

Demonstrate requisite core competencies that will broadly prepare you for success in the workplace and lifelong career management with The University of Texas at Tyler’s Career-Ready Microcredential. Through career readiness, you will successfully enter the workforce and launch your career. Career readiness is, quite simply, the new career currency.

About the Career-Ready Microcredential

test

The UT Tyler Career-Ready Microcredential prepares students with the skills they need to succeed in the 21st-century workforce. Based on the seven career readiness competencies as defined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the Career-Ready Microcredential teaches students soft skills that employers across disciplines value, including competencies in Career- & Self-Development, Communication, Critical Thinking, Leadership, Professionalism, Teamwork and Technology.

After completing the Career-Ready Microcredential, students will demonstrate the ability to apply skills in real-world settings, verify competencies beyond the transcript and resume, and improve marketability. Throughout the program, students will earn a series of digital badges and certificates and will ultimately be presented with a Career-Ready stole prior to graduation.
