Fletcher Rives

A proud native of Tyler, Texas, Fletcher Rives is an Assistant Project Manager with Hoar Construction, where he helps lead the team delivering the new Smith County Courthouse in downtown Tyler. In this role, he manages coordination among architects, engineers, trade partners, and the owner’s team—ensuring design intent, schedule, and quality align on one of the region’s most significant civic projects.
Fletcher’s academic foundation was built in East Texas. He earned dual Associate of Science degrees in Mathematics and Engineering from Tyler Junior College, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, graduating magna cum laude from The University of Texas at Tyler. His education fostered both technical proficiency and a lifelong belief that learning and collaboration are essential to professional growth.
At Hoar Construction, Fletcher has distinguished himself through a disciplined, technology-driven approach to project management. He has played a key role in implementing digital workflows through Procore, developing structured training materials, and creating systems that streamline communication between field and office teams. Known for his attention to detail and solution-oriented mindset, Fletcher works to ensure every process—whether operational or educational—serves both the project’s success and the people behind it.
Beyond his day-to-day responsibilities, Fletcher is passionate about mentorship and workforce development. He believes that building future leaders begins with connecting students to the realities of modern construction: accountability, adaptability, and teamwork. Through his appointment to UT Tyler’s Employer Advisory Board, he aims to help the university strengthen its bridge between academia and industry by advising on skills development, emerging trends, and experiential learning opportunities that prepare students for meaningful careers.
Proud of his East Texas roots, Fletcher views his involvement with UT Tyler not only as professional service, but as a personal responsibility. The same classrooms that shaped his career now provide a platform for him to give back—to share lessons learned, encourage growth, and help guide students toward the confidence and competence needed to excel in an evolving industry. He believes success is built on curiosity, character, and the courage to keep learning long after graduation.
