Stop the Bleed

Did you know that there is a Public Access Bleeding Control Kit in every classroom and lab on main campus, as well as specific public spaces, such as the Library, HPC Gym and the University Center? These kits are also available at all three of our University Academy campuses located in Tyler, Longview and Palestine.

Would you know how to use the contents during a bleeding emergency? Before an emergency occurs, it's best to locate your nearest Public Access Bleeding Control Kit. Knowledge is power and preparation is key!

The purpose of the Stop The Bleed campaign is to better prepare the public to save lives if others nearby are severely bleeding. This is done by raising awareness and teaching individuals three quick actions to control serious bleeding.

Through a Stop The Bleed course, you’ll gain the ability to recognize life-threatening bleeding and how to intervene effectively. A trained bystander has the power to save a victim's life before emergency services personnel arrive.

Review the course below and become empowered to make a life-or-death difference when a bleeding emergency occurs. Stop The Bleed. Save a Life!

Official STB Interactive Course

As of 9/1/25 there are no in-person or hybrid classes available.
