The East Texas Big Event

Community Wide Day of Service

The East Texas Big Event is a collaborative service project hosted by The University of Texas at Tyler, Tyler Junior College and The City of Tyler. Past service projects have included collaborations with numerous community organizations including PATH, City of Tyler Downtown, Tyler Rose Garden, Breckenridge Village, Fun Forest Park, Discovery Science Place, Smith County Historical Society and Handup Network. 

The East Texas Big Event will be on Saturday, February 28, 2026 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Check-in begins at 9:00 AM at Bergfeld Park amphitheater: 1510 S College Ave, Tyler, TX 75702. Volunteers will meet at Bergfeld Park amphitheater for breakfast and offical welcome and then disperse to service locations.

Sign ups open January 12, 2026 - February 20, 2026. T-Shirts and breakfast will be provided to all volunteers. Registrations are open to UT Tyler, City of Tyler and TJC affiliates only. Register by going to the UT Tyler Give Pulse page.
