Hosting an Event on Campus

The University of Texas at Tyler is a centerpiece for learning, culture and natural beauty in East Texas, located midway between Dallas and Shreveport, Louisiana. Founded in 1971, UT Tyler is one of the fastest-growing universities in the renowned University of Texas System.

Our beautiful 259-acre Tyler campus is nestled along a lake surrounded by thick pine and oak forests, wooded walking paths and a park-like environment providing a picturesque location for events.  UT Tyler has multiple venues for event hosting, including the Alumni House, University Center, Ornelas Activity Center, Braithwaite Recital Hall, Meadows Gallery Lobby and more.  It is the perfect place to get away from it all while still enjoying the amenities expected at a well-equipped university.

These include:

  • Facilities – 1,008-bed capacity; 30,000-square-foot convocation center with chair-back seating for 2,000 and a custom sound system worthy of concerts; state-of-the-art performance facilities to include a full Broadway-sized stage and hydraulically-controlled orchestra pit floor
  • Services – Economical rates, free on-campus parking, 24-hour security, full-service catering, on-site AV support, free Wi-Fi, copy services center, bookstore and Robert R. Muntz Library
    Recreation – Full athletic facilities, gym, outdoor swimming pool, soccer field, softball and baseball fields, sand volleyball court and outdoor tennis courts
