Artwork by undergraduate students at The University of Texas at Tyler is currently displayed on campus in a spring 2025 thesis exhibition. The UT Tyler Bachelor of Fine Arts exhibition, Glass House, is open in the UT Tyler Fine Arts Complex Gallery now through Friday, May 2, and showcases the works of BFA degree candidates, listed by hometown.
BELTON – Elzie McCallister.
TYLER – Lauren Perkins.
WEATHERFORD – Isa Feris.
A reception with artist talks will be 6 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at the gallery.
McCallister is a multimedia sculpture artist who primarily utilizes fabrics and resin to make high contrast anatomy works. Her subject matter focuses on the effects of mental health on the physical body.
Perkins is a ceramic artist who hand-builds small cardboard rooms. These various rooms represent fragmented memories of growth, self-acceptance and regret by impressions left from the past.
Feris is a ceramic sculptor and oil painter. Her work uses domestic symbols, such as homes and windows, alongside the feminine form to explore ideas of personal identity and societal perception.
Gallery hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by special appointment. To learn more, contact Michelle Taff, UT Tyler gallery, community outreach and education coordinator, at mtaff@uttyler.edu or 903.566.7237.
