Undergraduate engineering and nursing programs at The University of Texas at Tyler are among the top 100 nationwide according to recent U.S. News and World Report rankings.
Engineering ranks 60th in the nation and third in the state for undergraduate programs that do not offer a doctorate. Nursing ranks 98th in the nation and is one of the top 10 programs in Texas.
“This recognition from a leading publication highlights the excellence of the programs we offer our students,” said Dr. Barbara K. Haas, UT Tyler provost and chief academic officer. “This honor also reflects our dedication to student success and the well-being of our community.
As the only comprehensive engineering school in East Texas, the UT Tyler College of Engineering offers 11 programs spanning both undergraduate and graduate degrees in five engineering disciplines. The college recorded its first-ever, double-digit preliminary enrollment increase this fall – now with more than 1,000 students enrolled at the Tyler campus and Houston Engineering Center.
The UT Tyler School of Nursing provides students with the advanced skills they need to meet the growing demand for patient care and leadership in the health care industry. UT Tyler has one of the largest public university nursing programs in Texas, enrolling more than 3,100 students.
