Biography

Courses Taught:

  • NURS 6330: Quantitative Research Design
  • NURS 6337: Advanced Research Design
  • NURS 6339: Mixed Methods Research

Interests:

My program of research broadly focuses on health promotion for persons with chronic illness. Within that philosophical perspective and umbrella, I conduct research on the concepts of self-efficacy, physical activity, symptom management, and quality of life for persons with cancer.

Thoughts on Teaching:

I view myself as a fellow traveler on a journey of discovery. In my 20+ years of academic travels, students have enlightened me repeatedly. The opportunity to awaken curiousity, stimulate ideas, challenge thinking, encourage dreams, and inspire -- these are the privileges of a teacher-student relationship.
