Spring 2026 performances set for Jan. 16 – 18 at UT Tyler
The University of Texas at Tyler, in partnership with the Stage Notes Academy of Performing Arts Theater in Athens, will present “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” Jan. 16 – 18, 2026.
Performances will be 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, and 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026, at UT Tyler’s Braithwaite Recital Hall. The cast includes students from UT Tyler, Jarvis Christian University and Tyler Junior College, as well as East Texas community members. Co-directors are UT Tyler associate professor of music Dr. Sooah Park and academy executive director Karen Holmes.
“We are so excited to bring this beloved classic to the stage for our spring 2026 show in partnership with the Stage Notes Academy,” said Park.
Tickets are $22 each and can be purchased through the academy’s website. Based on the Victor Hugo novel and the Disney animated feature, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” showcases the film’s Academy Award-nominated score, as well as new songs by Menken and Schwartz. Peter Parnell’s new book embraces story theater and features verbatim passages from Hugo’s gothic novel.
