American Society of Civil Engineers – UT Tyler Student Chapter

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is the nation’s oldest national engineering society, founded in 1852 to advance the science and profession of civil engineering. Representing tens of thousands of civil engineers, researchers, and students globally, ASCE is dedicated to enhancing the built environment, advocating for sustainable infrastructure, and establishing technical codes and standards.
The ASCE Student Chapter at UT Tyler serves as a vital bridge between academic coursework and professional practice for aspiring engineers. The chapter fosters career development, leadership, and technical growth through industry networking, guest lectures, and community outreach. Members regularly collaborate on hands-on engineering challenges, notably representing the university in regional symposia and society-wide design competitions such as the ASCE Concrete Canoe Competition, which equips students with practical teamwork and problem-solving skills.

About Us & Mission

The UT Tyler Construction Management Student Association (CMSA) was established to build communication and collaboration among construction management students and anyone interested in the built environment.
