Message from the Chair

Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering

Welcome to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering!

We are living in one of the most exciting periods in the history of engineering. Advances in artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics and autonomous systems, semiconductor technologies, renewable energy, smart grids, embedded systems, and the Internet of Things are rapidly transforming the way we live, work, communicate, and interact with the world. Electrical and Computer Engineers are at the center of this transformation, developing the technologies that will shape our future. Our Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering provides students with the knowledge, skills, experiences, and opportunities to become part of that future.

The Department offers two undergraduate programs, the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCpE), as well as the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) graduate program. These programs combine a strong foundation in engineering fundamentals with opportunities to explore emerging technologies and rapidly growing areas of the profession.

Teaching excellence and student success are at the heart of everything we do. Our students learn from dedicated faculty in well-equipped laboratories and modern teaching facilities where classroom concepts become practical engineering experiences. Through laboratory courses, hands-on projects, senior design, internships, and undergraduate research, students have opportunities to design, build, test, innovate, and solve real-world engineering problems.

Take advantage of the laboratories, research opportunities, internships, student organizations, faculty mentorship, and hands-on experiences available to you. Explore new ideas, ask difficult questions, and challenge yourself to create and innovate.
