MedEx Overview

The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is excited to announce the MedEx Virtual Mentorship program. This pathway provides selected undergraduate freshmen and sophomores guidance in demystifying the medical school application process and building the knowledge and skills needed to apply to medical school. This academic year-long program is designed to support students at both two-year and four-year institutions across East Texas.

Students in MedEx will have support from peer, med student, and professional mentors, and will engage in virtual and in-person workshops designed to challenge their thinking, shape their understanding, and provide them with confidence as they traverse the pre-med path. Students will enhance their expertise through targeted skill-building exercises, collaborative discussions, application preparation, and more.
