Tammy Wilkerson is a dedicated healthcare and community advocacy professional with over 20 years of service at The University of Texas at Tyler Health Science Center. Driven by a deep understanding of her community, Tammy joined the Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) team as a certified facilitator, reflecting her lifelong passion for mental health advocacy. Tammy is a certified Community Health Worker and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in behavioral science (social work).

Throughout her career in educational and community settings, Tammy has developed a specialized ability to build trust, communicate sensitive topics with care, and create safe, supportive environments for diverse youth populations. Her expertise encompasses grassroots community engagement, evidence-based education, and dedicated advocacy for underserved communities. She is committed to promoting mental well-being by providing accessible resources that empower individuals of all ages to navigate life's challenges.

Beyond her professional work, Tammy is an active member of Sunshine MB Church and a passionate sports enthusiast. She enjoys cheering at John Tyler High School football games and supporting the Dallas Cowboys. Her hobbies include fishing, gardening, shopping, traveling, and cooking with family and friends.
