Dual Credit Admissions

Steps to Dual Credit Enrollment (homeschool)

30-Minute Zoom Meeting

Email dualcredit@uttyler.edu to meet with a Dual Credit Coordinator and discuss eligibility, course options, and expectations.

Receive next-step instructions for admissions and testing.

Students must:

  • Submit an ApplyTexas Dual Credit Application
  • Complete TSI testing or provide an approved exemption
  • Email Dual Credit Coordinator a notarized homeschool transcript
  • Submit any previous college transcripts for prior dual credit (if applicable)

Once admissions requirements have been satisfied:

  • The homeschool family and dual credit coordinator will meet again to discuss course selection to include on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)*

*MOUs are completed each semster

Before a dual credit student can be enrolled, the University must create course sections specifically designated for dual credit students from an already existing section of your chosing. These sections are built from existing university course offerings and are not immediately available when a student completes admissions requirements. The dual credit office requests these sections after all admissions, advising, and agreement requirements have been completed. Once the sections are available, registration paperwork can be prepared and submitted for enrollment processing.

Please Note: Students cannot be registered into a Dual Credit course until the homeschool course section has been created and made available in the university system. This step requires coordination between multiple university departments and may take additional processing time.

  • Dual credit coordinator will prepare your registration form with your newly created course sections
  • Homeschool family will sign and return the registration form
  • Dual credit coordinator will submit form for enrollment processing

Once enrolled:

  • Bill is adjusted to $99/credit hour dual credit tuition rate
  • Dual credit coordinator will send instructions on how to make your payment

Students are added to the Dual Credit Students and Parents Canvas course and receive ongoing support from the Dual Credit team throughout the semester. The coordinator serves as a liaison between students, families, faculty, and university offices.
