Digital Learning Studios
Educational Media Productions
The Office of Digital Learning houses a great team of video specialists who are ready to help you with your academic video recordings.
The department currently has two green-screen studios with state-of-the-art equipment. Come make yourself at home with complimentary refreshments in the video lounge area.
Before you book time in the studio, here are some steps to think through:
If you're wanting to film a lecture, book time with your instructional designer to talk about the best ways to present your classroom content. UT Tyler's instructional designers are well versed in online pedagogy and can help you create online course content that is effective, while addressing any design issues that might not be.
- Decide How to Present Your Content.
There are endless ways to get creative with your videos. For instance, if your lecture is about the moon, we can use green-screen technology to make it appear that you are on the moon. The sky is the limit in the studio. Bring us your ideas and we'll do our best to make your visions come to life.
- Decide What to Say.
After the design is in place, it's time to decide what to say. There is a teleprompter available in the recording studio that can help you stay on point while recording. There is also a screen that can show your PowerPoint slides, and you can advance through them just like you were in a regular classroom. Before booking your time in the studio, the video specialists need to have your PowerPoint and script in hand so they can have everything loaded and ready for you when you arrive.
- Book Your Recording Time in the Green Screen Room.
After you have brainstormed, decided on your set and written your script, it's time to book time to record.
