Military and Veterans Success Center

UT Tyler’s Military and Veterans Success Center (MVSC) provides a holistic campus experience for military affiliated students, including student veterans, active/Reserve/National Guard service members, as well as their family members. Your donation will be used to addressed some of the needs of our military affiliated students, including:

  • Financial Assistance. Despite the generous benefits that many of our students receive, the cost of an education can still be substantial. Many of our students need assistance with purchasing textbooks and other supplies for their courses that may not be covered under their benefits. In some cases, a student’s benefits may expire in the middle or at the end of a semester, leaving them with additional expenses to cover out of pocket.
  • Programs and Organizations. UT Tyler’s Student Veterans of America chapter participates in local, regional, and national networking events, as well as personal and professional development opportunities. Additionally, the MVSC provides campus-wide education on supporting military affiliated students through its Patriot MASS (Military Affiliated Student Support) training program.
  • Ceremonies and Honors. The MVSC honors the military affiliated community through various events conducted during November (Veterans Day) and May (Memorial Day). We also celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating students during a celebration held prior to commencement.

Your support will help the MVSC and UT Tyler provide an exceptional level of support that reflects our gratitude for the service and sacrifices of our military affiliated students.

Gifts made using this form will be split with 75% directed to the Patriot Military Legacy Scholarship Fund and 25% to the operational account of the MVSC to support the initiatives mentioned above. The scholarship fund supports military affiliated students currently enrolled at UT Tyler who have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, or those who have exhausted their benefits eligibility in the middle of an academic semester. Priority will be given to student veterans, with remaining funds awarded to eligible spouses and children who are using VA or state veterans educational benefits.
