UT Tyler Alpha Chi Honors Faculty for Excellence in Teaching

The University of Texas at Tyler recently announced the presentation of Outstanding Faculty Member awards by the Texas Alpha Xi Chapter of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society.

The UT Tyler chapter awarded faculty from each college for excellence in teaching and compassion for students. Recipients included:

• Dr. Stephen Bushardt, Soules College of Business.

• Dr. Melinda Hermanns, College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

• Dr. Randall Moate, College of Education and Psychology.

• Dr. James Newsom, College of Arts and Sciences (liberal arts).

• Dr. Dustin Patterson, College of Arts and Sciences (sciences and mathematics).

• Dr. Mukul Shirvaikar, College of Engineering.

Alpha Chi recognizes superior academic performance in all fields of study. The Texas Alpha Xi chapter has been celebrating UT Tyler student achievement for 42 years.
