The University of Texas at Tyler launched new academic programs this fall. New offerings are the Master of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders as well as an online Master of Science in Criminal Justice.

"As we become the educational and economic driver of East Texas, we are excited to offer these additional academic programs to our students," said Dr. Amir Mirmiran, UT Tyler provost and vice president for academic affairs. "We know they will use their UT Tyler degree to become successful professionals in their chosen careers, and in turn, strengthen both the region and Texas workforce."

Master of Occupational Therapy
The graduate-level degree offers a registered occupational therapist certification with five semesters of blended instruction – combining online with on-campus delivery – followed by two, 12-week-long fieldwork experiences.

Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry
The undergraduate degree provides students with the requisite skills and knowledge for a professional career that combines both biology and medicine. With the degree, graduates may become successful biomedical scientists, nanotechnologists or forensic scientists.

Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders
The undergraduate degree prepares graduates to become assorted speech-language pathology and audiology professionals, including speech therapists, speech-language educators and audiologists.

Master of Science in Criminal Justice – Online
The graduate-level degree's curriculum is endorsed by the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, an international association promoting criminal justice education, research and policy analysis.
