The Association of University Programs in Health Administration named The University of Texas at Tyler’s Master of Health Administration Program at the School of Health Professions as the recipient of the 2023 Award for Program Engagement by a New Program.

AUPHA is comprised of a network of universities and organizations that aim to foster excellence and innovation in health management, policy education and scholarship. Every year, AUPHA selects one new program member and one established program member for the Award for Engagement with AUPHA, out of over 180 graduate and undergraduate programs. Award winners are determined by overall contributions to the organization during the previous year, such as meeting attendance and participation, authorship, leadership and committee service.

“The Master of Health Administration Program at the UT Tyler School of Health Professions is honored to receive the AUPHA Award for Program Engagement by a New Program,” said Dr. Michael H. Kennedy, associate professor and chair. “Active participation in AUPHA by our faculty has enriched our curriculum and enhanced our students’ learning experience.”

The UT Tyler School of Health Professions includes the Department of Public Health, Department of Kinesiology, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and the Department of Healthcare Policy, Economics and Management. The school serves over 600 undergraduate students and over 200 graduate/professional students through programs in communication sciences and disorders, health sciences, kinesiology, wellness, health administration, occupational therapy and public health.
