Communication MA

Learn and develop skills and strategies in journalism, public relations, speech and mass communication and be prepared for a career in teaching in a junior college, public relations management or other leadership position in business. Get one-on-one mentoring by professors who are avid researchers and contributors to major resources like the Encyclopedia of the Social and Cultural Foundations of Education.

Specialize Your Education

The program has two tracks: the generalist MA and Executive Program. Within the generalist MA track, students can choose from a thesis or non-thesis option. The Executive Communication (ECOM) track is designed for working members of the communication community. The program is taught using the “hybrid” model with one week of concentrated on-site instruction in Tyler each semester and additional requirements to be met online.
