Center for Environment, Biodiversity and Conservation

The Department of Biology has an excellent set of resources to conduct a diversity of research. The research labs of individual faculty have state-of-the-art equipment for field and laboratory research.

Equipment for field research includes four-wheel-drive vehicles, canoes and boats, water analysis instrumentation, electro-shocker for inventory of aquatic animals, photography equipment, sampling nets, etc.

An aquatic facility for laboratory rearing of a variety of animals has recently been constructed. Two vehicles for field research are also available. Excellent equipment for conducting molecular analyses is also available and includes instruments for quantitative PCR, a droplet digital PCR system, gel imaging systems, spectrophotometers, centrifuges, etc.
