UT Tyler Receives Rising Stars and STARs Awards to Recruit & Retain Outstanding Faculty

The University of Texas at Tyler is pleased to have outstanding faculty members who have received Rising STARs and STARs awards during AY 2019-2020. The University of Texas System provides seed funding, matched locally, to help recruit and/or retain world-class faculty. This funding is used to support the acquisition of equipment and/or upgrades of research facilities.

How Rising Stars and STARs Are Selected

The University of Texas System awards up to $300,000 for the recruitment of qualifying Rising STARs faculty and up to $500,00 for STARs faculty. Awardees are nominated by their respective institutions and must show evidence of excellence in research.
