UT Tyler Receives Rising Stars and STARs Awards to Recruit & Retain Outstanding Faculty
The University of Texas at Tyler is pleased to have outstanding faculty members who have received Rising STARs and STARs awards during the past four years. The University of Texas System provides seed funding, matched locally, to help recruit and/or retain world-class faculty. This funding is used to support the acquisition of equipment and/or upgrades of research facilities.

How Rising Stars and STARs Are Selected
The University of Texas System awards up to $300,000 for the recruitment of qualifying Rising STARs faculty and up to $500,00 for STARs faculty. Awardees are nominated by their respective institutions and must show evidence of excellence in research.
