UT Tyler Commencement

Summer 2026 Commencement ceremonies will be held in the Herrington Patriot Center (HPC) on the campus of The University of Texas at Tyler.

Getting to the Herrington Patriot Center

The Herrington Patriot Center is located on the campus of The University of Texas at Tyler, approximately 90 miles from Dallas and Shreveport. In Tyler’s southeast corner, the campus is easy to find. Just exit Loop 323 onto University Boulevard (Spur 248), then head east on University Boulevard until you get to Old Omen Road (approximately two miles). Take a left onto Old Omen Road and you will see the main entrance to the campus on your left.

Guests should enter campus from Old Omen Road and follow directional signage and instructions from University Police, Parking Services, and event staff, who will be on-site to assist with traffic flow and parking.

Parking Information

Lot 2 – ADA Accessible Parking (valid ADA permit required) and Platform Party Parking (pass required)
Lot 4 – Graduate and Guest Parking
Lots 15 & 18, and the Parking Garage – Graduate and Guest Parking
Lot 16 – Staff Parking (will remain open for faculty, graduate, and guest overflow parking as needed)
Lot 17 – Staff working Graduate Check-In and Student Line-Up

Arrival Information

Guest doors open one hour prior to each ceremony.
Graduates should report to the Physical and Health Education (PHE) Building for check-in and line-up.
Directional signage will be posted throughout campus to guide graduates to the PHE Building.
Graduates should not enter through the guest entrance at the Herrington Patriot Center.
Guests should enter through the designated Guest Entrance at the Herrington Patriot Center.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early to allow ample time for parking, security screening, and seating.
