Our Governing Councils

The University of Texas at Tyler is home to many inter/national fraternities and sororities. These fraternities and sororities are governed on campus by councils that are comprised of current active members in the represented groups. These councils are the College Panhellenic Council (CPC) and the Interfraternity Council (IFC),  National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and our Multicultural Greek Council (MGC).

Our Current Councils

College Panhellenic Council (CPC)

The College Panhellenic Council (CPC) governs the Panhellenic Association at UT Tyler, which includes women's fraternal organizations recognized nationally by the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC). Founded in 1902, NPC is the national governing body for the 26 women’s fraternities and sororities. Three NPC sororities are active on the UT Tyler campus: Alpha Chi Omega, Delta Gamma, and Zeta Tau Alpha. The CPC and its executive board establish and maintain the constitution and bylaws for the chapters, plan formal recruitment and maintain unity within the sorority community.

There is alumni counterpart for the Tyler area, the Tyler Area Alumnae Panhellenic. Their stated goal is to assist women with the Panhellenic recruitment process

Men's Council (MC)

The Men's Council was created in Fall 2020 and officially voted on in January 2021 as the official governing body of all UT Tyler Fraternities. This body is a local level governing council which represents all UT Tyler fraternities interest on campus. The council is tasked with managing areas including but not limited to fraternity growth and development, establishing and maintain standards, codes of ethics, and policies for all member fraternities, and educate members on a wide variety of areas ranging from risk management to diversity and inclusion. There is an executive board that manages the day to day operations of the council.

National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)

The National Pan-Hellenic Council is made up of the nine historically African American fraternities and sororities. This council will be officially established once two or more NPHC organizations are established on campus.

The Tyler area is also home to the East Texas Pan-Hellenic Council, an alumni body for Divine Nine alum. For more information on the ETPHC follow their social media.
