Hazing Resources

Hazing is any intentional, knowing, or reckless act occurring on or off the campus of UT Tyler that endangers the mental or physical health or safety of a student.

--UT System Regents' Rules, Rule 50101

Hazing with or without the consent of a student inflicting the hazing or the person submitting to the hazing is not permitted and subject to immediate discipline. In addition, as a part of the registration process each semester, each organization must sign a written statement acknowledging that the organization does not engage in hazing activities which may be dangerous, harmful, or degrading to the student. For additional information about hazing policies, please refer to Subchapter 2.7, Sec. 2.7-304 for Student Organizations and Chapter 8, Sec. 8-8.04 for Student Conduct and Discipline in the Manual of Policies and Procedures for Student Affairs.
