Tyler Community Band
The Tyler Community Band is a volunteer ensemble made up of adult amateur and semi-professional
wind and percussion players in the Tyler area. Its mission is to make community band
music accessible and to provide performance opportunities that span classic band repertoire,
pops, and more. Find Tyler Community Band on Facebook and see when they are performing next!
Music & Medicine
Through our Music & Medicine program, students from the University of Texas at Tyler School of Performing Arts bring live performances directly into hospitals, assisted living communities, and hospice care settings across East Texas. These performances are designed to uplift spirits, reduce stress, and create moments of human connection during times of challenge and transition.
In addition to serving the community, this initiative provides transformative learning experiences for our students. By performing in intimate, meaningful environments, they cultivate compassion, adaptability, and a service-oriented mindset—qualities essential for today’s artist-citizen.
