The School of Performing Arts offers coursework leading to the Bachelor of Music degree (BM) and Bachelor of Arts degree in Music (BA). A minor in music is also available for students earning degrees in areas outside of music.
Bachelor of Music
Bachelor of Music students may select an emphasis in:
- Composition
- Instrumental or Choral Music Education
- Instrumental, Vocal, or Piano Performance
- Piano Pedagogy
Bachelor of Arts in Music
Bachelor of Arts in Music students may complete a capstone research project in:
- Music History
- Music Theory
Please note
Students should be aware that for music majors, music-specific coursework must begin
with the first semester of freshman enrollment. Unlike some other majors, it is not possible to
take only university core courses ("basics") during the first two years, and still
graduate in eight semesters.
