Leanne Robinette

Leanne Robinette has dedicated more than 18 years to enhancing the quality of life in Tyler through visionary leadership and a passion for community service. As Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Tyler, she oversees a diverse portfolio that includes parks, recreation programs, city facilities, municipal cemeteries, beautification initiatives, and the City’s Urban Forestry Program—all designed to promote health, connection, and sustainability. Leanne also serves on the City’s Executive Team, contributing to high-level strategic planning and organizational decision-making across departments.
Under her leadership, the department has completed major renovations at six city parks and is currently overseeing the development of Stewart Park, the first new park added to the system in more than two decades. She also manages the City’s extensive trail network, with several trails ranked among the top ten in the nation, and oversees the largest municipal rose garden in the United States, a landmark attraction that draws thousands of visitors each year.
In addition to her departmental leadership, Leanne oversees the Park Board and the Keep Tyler Beautiful Board and serves on the SporTyler Board, helping to advance recreation, tourism, and community engagement across the city.
Leanne earned her Master of Public Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Local Government Management from The University of Texas at Tyler, with an academic emphasis on strategic planning, fiscal responsibility, and leadership in public service. She is also a graduate of Leadership Tyler and serves as Vice Chair for SocialWorx, a local nonprofit focused on mental health.
