Mishae Boren

Mishae Boren was raised in Tyler and has deep ties to the East Texas community. She earned her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Psychology. Before attending Texas A&M University School of Law, she interned at the Law Office of Bobby D. Mims, P.C., where her passion for criminal defense work was realized.
In 2016, after graduating from law school and passing the bar exam, Ms. Boren returned to the firm as an associate attorney. In 2018, Ms. Boren and Mr. Mims became law partners and formed Boren & Mims, PLLC. Ms. Boren has tried numerous felony and misdemeanor cases before East Texas juries and has experience handling cases ranging from petty theft to capital murder.
She is trained in DWI detection, Standardized Field Sobriety Testing techniques, and blood alcohol analysis. She is also trained in expunctions and non-disclosures of criminal records, as well as mediation. Ms. Boren believes that her experiences, education, and local upbringing provide her with a unique perspective and enable her to better understand and serve the needs of her clients.
Ms. Boren is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in the Eastern District of Texas federal court. She is currently a member of the State Bar of Texas, Texas Bar College, Eastern District of Texas Bar Association, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Smith County Bar Association (President-Elect), Smith County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the Women’s Section of the Smith County Bar Association.
She currently serves on the Smith County Bar Association Board of Directors (President-Elect), as Co-Chair of the Smith County Bar Women’s Section, and on the Caldwell Arts Alliance Board of Directors (President). She is also a past president of the Smith County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (2019–2020).
