Tara Ellis

Tara Ellis is a dedicated leader in workforce and economic development with a deep passion for her community. As Director of Industry and Workforce Initiatives for the Tyler Economic Development Council, she spearheads strategic partnerships among businesses, educational institutions, and community stakeholders. Her work focuses on strengthening the region’s workforce pipeline and fostering a skilled, adaptable, and inspired talent pool.
Before joining the Tyler Economic Development Council, Tara spent nearly six years with a large staffing agency. As a top-performing sales representative for five consecutive years, she developed a nuanced understanding of workforce dynamics across diverse industries. Her leadership and expertise extended to training and mentoring business development teams across the country. This experience solidified her commitment to aligning talent with business needs in meaningful and impactful ways, particularly within the manufacturing sector.
In addition to her professional role, Tara is a committed community advocate and serves on the boards of Heart of Tyler and Lighthouse for the Blind. A native of Bogata, Texas, she and her husband, Anthony, have three children. She is deeply invested in the community’s potential and spirit, both professionally and personally.
