Facilities
The structures lab is an experimentation lab with a 400,000-pound testing machine, isolation area, two-ton crane, and tie down for a load frame.
 
Testing lateral load behavior of clay masonry façade with advanced wood framing -
                     research by Dr. Michael McGinnis and Dr. Michael Gangone
The laboratory includes the following equipment:
- Tinius Olsen Super L - 400,000 Lb. Universal Test Apparatus
 - Data Acquisition Computer, Cards and Software Licenses
 - INET Data Acquisition System with 24 Channel Capacity
 - Thermocouples
 - Strain Gauge Bridge Completion Modules
 - Through-Hole Load Cells with 100,000 Lb. Capacity
 - Hydraulic Pump, Hoses and Manifolds
 - 120,000 Lb. Hydraulic Jacks
 - 60,000 Lb. Push/Pull Hydraulic Jack
 - 6,500 Watt Portable Generator
 - Refractory Brick and Accessories
 - Propane Tanks and Burner System
 - ARAMIS 3D Digital Image Correlation System
 - ETN 152/3 - 17 Amp Coring Drill
 - Magritek NMR Probe, Spectrometer and Amplifier
