Student Checklist

Spring 2024 graduates register through MarchingOrder starting Tuesday, March 5th at 10:00am CST.

• If you do not plan to participate, you must indicate this on the Commencement Registration through MarchingOrder or you will not be listed in the digital Commencement Program.
• You are welcome to make as many changes as you would like until it closes on Sunday, March 31st at 11:59pm CST.
  • Any changes made to your Commencement Registration through MarchingOrder after this deadline will have to be adjusted at Student Check-In on the day of the Commencement ceremony.

Academic regalia is the traditional dress of mortarboard/tam (cap) and gown for degree candidates participating in the Commencement ceremonies. You can view the current official licensed UT Tyler Commencement regalia that is required to participate in the Commencement ceremonies. UT Tyler's official licensed vendors are Herff Jones (online orders) and the UT Tyler Barnes and Noble Bookstore (in-person orders), 903.566.7070.

• Master's & Undergraduate:
  • Online Ordering through Herff Jones
    • Opens: January 10th
    • Closes: April 8th
  • In-store Purchases - Sizes may be limited, so we encourage you not to wait to purchase.
    • Opens: January 10th
    • Closes: May 4th
• Doctoral Regalia:
  • Purchase - Students need to fill out the Regalia Purchase Form and submit to UT Tyler Bookstore, SM782@bncollege.com before the March 25th deadline.
  • Rental - Students need to fill out the Regalia Rental Form and submit to UT Tyler bookstore, SM782@bncollege.com before the April 8th deadline.

These ceremonies will be indoors and there will be quite a bit of walking. Please dress appropriately for this formal event and wear appropriate footwear.

There will be no storage area for your belongings, please bring only what you can carry on your person. The UT Tyler staff and faculty will not take possession of or be responsible for any of your belongings.

You will reserve these within the Commencement Registration through MarchingOrder.

• If a guest, including children and infants, does not have a ticket they will NOT be allowed to enter the event.
• Round 1:
  • Opens: Wednesday, April 3rd at 10:00am CST
  • Closes: Monday, April 15th at 11:59pm CST
    • Any unreserved tickets will be evenly allotted to the students that had already reserved their tickets for the Round 2 ticketing.
• Round 2:
  • Opens: Wednesday, April 17th at 10:00am CST
  • Closes: Wednesday, April 24th at 11:59pm CST
    • Any unreserved tickets will be available to be reserved for the Round 3 ticketing on a first come first serve basis until all tickets are reserved.
• Round 3:
  • Opens: Friday, April 26th at 10:00am CST
  • Closes: Saturday, May 4th at 2:00pm CST

It is the candidates responsibility to ensure all ticketing information is relayed to their guests.

Friends and family members unable to attend, are welcome to view the live streaming broadcast of the ceremony from the UTTyler Youtube Channel.

You will access this within the Commencement Registration through MarchingOrder.

• Your GradPass will be released to you on your MarchingOrder portal by Friday, April 19th at 10:00am CST.
• We will utilize the QR Code on your GradPass to check you in at the Student Check-In
  • You can provide this either on a smart phone or print it out.

We will be hosting an optional student walkthrough rehearsal on Tuesday, April 30th, please see your designated college times below:

• 9:00am CST
  • Morning Rehearsal
• 2:00pm CST
  • Afternoon Rehearsal

Parking lots will open 1.5 hours prior to the ceremony start time and will be available for guests and students on a first come first serve basis.

The students will proceed through two stations on the way to lineup:

• Check-In
  • GradPass Verification
  • Obtain your name card
  • Spring 2024 undergraduates who achieve Latin honors status, per Fall 2023 credit hours and GPA will be able to pick up their honor cords.
• Pre-Ceremony Photography
  • Photos are taken of each candidate before line-up and as they cross the stage. Purchase is not necessary. To view, proof, and purchase photos, students may contact Flash Photography at https://www.flashphotography.com.
• Students will then proceed to the lineup areas, where UT Tyler faculty marshals and staff will be available to assist you.
