Biography
Dr. Sai Harsha Katuri joined the Soules College of Business at the University of Texas at Tyler in the Fall of 2023, following the completion of his doctoral studies at the University of Houston. The quote by Ignacio Estrada—“If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn”—serves as the foundation of Dr. Katuri’s pedagogical approach. In his classes, Dr. Katuri is committed to addressing the needs of all five types of learners by integrating visual elements and interactive activities that foster engagement and understanding. He places equal emphasis on both logic and intuition when introducing new concepts, ensuring that students develop a comprehensive and adaptable grasp of the material.

Dr. Katuri’s research interests focus on the fields of financial and managerial accounting, with particular attention to asymmetric cost behavior, debt covenants, and management forecasts. Currently, he teaches Principles of Financial Accounting to the undergraduate students and Data Analytics to the graduate students.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Katuri has a great appreciation for nature. He loves the vibrant and intense sunsets of Texas. He loves animals and birds, and regularly feeds the squirrels, turtles, birds, and fish on the university campus.
