Kerrie Anne is an Assistant Dean and member of the management faculty in the Soules College of Business at the University of Texas at Tyler (UT Tyler). She is recognized as a Distinguished Teaching Professor, having been honored for her contributions, innovations, and excellence in teaching throughout her career. She holds a dual appointment in the School of Medicine, serving as the Director for the Healthcare Leadership Distinction (HLD) program as well as a Professor of Practice contributing to the Public Health System Science (PHSS) Healthcare Administration Leadership and Management curriculum.
Her professional focus is on strategic leadership. She leads operations and strategic initiatives, designing, developing, and executing the implementation of programs and curricula. She was at the forefront of implementing the institution’s first Executive Healthcare Administration program and later served as founding Executive Director of the Executive MBA in Healthcare Management. She leads strategic growth by developing innovative, cross-disciplinary initiatives spanning medicine, pharmacy, nursing, and business, creating stronger alignment between clinical practice and business operations across the healthcare ecosystem. She is also committed to mentoring and has developed initiatives to support professional development across disciplines.
Kerrie Anne was awarded the School of Medicine’s Part-Time Faculty Award for Excellence for her outstanding achievements and contributions through leadership and teaching. She is the recipient of the 2024 White Fellowship for Teaching Excellence and was named UT Tyler’s 2025 Piper Professor Nominee. She was recognized by the Rotary International Rotary Club of Tyler as UT Tyler’s 2022–2023 Teacher of the Year and by the UT Tyler Office of Leadership and Service as the 2022 Mentor of the Year. Kerrie Anne is a University of Texas System Academy of Distinguished Teachers (UTSADT) Fellow and a UT Tyler ADT Faculty Fellow, serving as UT Tyler ADT President from 2022 to 2024. She was also awarded the University System Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award (ROTA) in 2018.
Kerrie Anne is an elected board member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) East Texas chapter. She has been recognizing repeatedly for her contribution to healthcare leadership receiving an ACHE Regent’s award in 2022 and again in 2024, she was also awarded the ACHE top Leader-to-Leader in the Academic Category, in 2023. Kerrie Anne was elected to the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) Council in 2023 and currently serves on the NBME Global Advisory Committee.
