ECRT (Effort Certification and Reporting Technology)

What is ECRT?

In February 2009, the University of Texas at Tyler launched an on-line, web-based effort reporting system called ECRT (Effort Certification and Reporting Technology). This system facilitates both the monitoring of effort distributions during the year and the required annual certification of effort. ECRT can be used to monitor effort.

Certification Schedule

Effort Certification through ECRT will be undertaken quarterly. As with the previous effort reporting system, faculty and staff principal investigators will have 2 weeks (14 days) to certify. Important dates for time and effort certification are listed below. 

                                                      Time and Effort Certification FY25 Important Dates

Quarter 1-September 1 – November 30

• November 30^th – No more sponsored projects payroll changes for this time period both campuses.

• December 9^th-December 20^th Main Campus Certification Dates

• December 16^th OSP receives payroll data for HSC campus

• January 2^nd – January 16^th HSC Campus Certification Dates

Quarter 2-December 1-February 28

• February 28^th- No more sponsored projects payroll changes for this time period both campuses.

• March 10^th-March 24^th Main Campus Certification Dates

• March 13^th No more payroll changes for HSC campus

• March 17th^th OSP receives payroll data for HSC campus

• April 2^nd – April 16^th HSC Campus Certification Dates

Quarter 3 March 1-May 30

• May 30- No more sponsored projects payroll changes for this time period both campuses.

• June 10^th-June 24^th Main Campus Certification Dates

• June 13^th No more payroll changes for HSC campus

• June 16^th OSP receives payroll data for HSC campus

• July 2^nd – July 16^th HSC Campus Certification Dates

Quarter 4-June 1 – August 30^th

• August 30- No more sponsored projects payroll changes for this time period both campuses.

• September 10^th-September 24^th Main Campus Certification Dates

• September 12^th No more payroll changes for HSC campus

• September 15^th OSP receives payroll data for HSC campus

• October 2^nd – October 16^th HSC Campus Certification Dates
