Megan McGee is a nursing student. She had an opportunity to shadow nurses at Christus Hospital. Megan was able to see the different specialties. She was drawn to nursing because of the hands-on experience and the direct impact that she can make on the patient's life. She hopes to become an ICU nurse, then continue to CRNA school at UT Tyler. Megan chose UT Tyler because it's known for its nursing program that produces great nurses who are ready for the workforce. Megan is honored to be a Rose Scholar. She's loved being able to get to know each of the Rose Scholars and the faculty that's with them. Serving, representing, and giving back to UT Tyler through the Rose Scholar Program has been the highlight of Megan's year. This program provided her with opportunities outside of her comfort zone, and each one has helped her develop valuable character traits that she can apply in her career.
