BiographyRonald J. Pieper received the PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1984 from the University of Iowa. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) and a senior member of the Optical Society of America. He is also a senior member of Society of Photo-optical Instrumentation Engineers Society (SPIE) as well as a registered professional engineer in the state of Virginia.
His research interests include memristors, numerical modeling of chaos, engineering optics, semiconductors, engineering education, and reliability modeling. He has received the following teaching awards: Outstanding Instructional Performance Award in the year 2000 at the Naval Postgraduate School and the Best Professor of the Year Award in Electrical Engineering in the year 2006 at The University of Texas at Tyler.
