Teaching Philosophy:
My teaching philosophy revolves around a student-centered classroom; one in which students are engaged and participating as opposed to a passive environment.  I believe in the importance of considering viewpoints that differ from our own and seeking a clear view from a different perspective.  Being open to new points of view can be eye-opening.  I believe that it is my responsibility to encourage thinking as opposed to providing answers.  It is in those times when students are solving problems, that they are experiencing it for themselves and learning to critically think.
