Jacob Brown is currently a nursing student at UT Tyler. Jacob went on a conservation biology trip to Ecuador with Dr. Banta. The study abroad trip had a profound impact on Jacob, inspiring him to be where he is today. On the trip, they surveyed environmental projects and observed local wildlife and plants. He found inspiration and a passion for learning after the hands-on experiences he had in Ecuador. Jacob is a proud recipient of the Presidential Rose Scholarship. Upon receiving the scholarship, Jacob grew a deeper connection to UT Tyler. As a Rose Scholar, he represents the student body as a whole. This scholarship allowed him to meet new people and have different opportunities he wouldn't normally have. He hopes to apply everything he learns as a Rose Scholar to his life after graduation. Jacob believes the skills he learned in the scholarship program will help him achieve his goals.
