
Rural Psychiatry Residency Application
Residency Application Information
All residency applicants must apply through ERAS. Applications submitted through any other platform will not be reviewed. We accept
6 residents each year into our categorical psychiatry residency program. Our interview
season runs from October through January and the deadline to submit your application
is November 30. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, only selected candidates
will be contacted for interviews.
Applicant Eligibility & Selection Criteria
The following guidelines are used to identify applicants for interviews and determine
eligibility for final ranking and appointment:
- Graduate of an accredited LCME or AOA medical school
- Medical school graduation year must be 2020 or later
- Passing scores on USMLE Step 1 & Step 2 CK/CS and/or COMLEX Level 1 & 2 (preferably on the first attempt)
- Dean’s Letter and three letters of recommendation (preferably from faculty whom the applicant has worked with clinically)
- Submission of a curriculum vitae (CV) and personal statement
- Willingness to complete four years of training in a categorical psychiatry program
- Must be able to assume all training responsibilities by the contract start date and attend mandatory orientation during the last two weeks of June
- J-1 visas are sponsored by the institution
