Biography

Dr. Ross teaches British literature, specializing in the Romantic and Victorian Periods.  She studies how writers in these periods were educated. Her book Educating the Romantic Poets, Life and Learning in the Anglo-Classical Academy 1770-1850 was published in 2023 by Liverpool University Press. Currently she is studying how differently girls in these periods were educated.  A winner of numerous teaching awards, Dr. Ross is one of the twelve Founding Fellows of the University of Texas System Academy of Distinguished Teachers. Her podcast, Ask Dr. Ross, is in its second season. She answers questions such as “How do I fit in at college?” “What can I expect from the freshman year?” and “What is the college experience like for veterans?”
