I chose this program due to the strong faculty, the opportunity for research experience, excellent clinical training with large diverse patients’ population, and the support for whatever career goal you choose. I felt very welcomed during the interview process and feel confident I will be well prepared for my career in hematology and oncology."

"Vishrut's passions and goals are about hematology and oncology, especially malignant hematolgoy with a strong interest in cellular/Car-T therapies and stem cell transplantation. He chose this program as the program provides a strong commitment to the community-focused, patient-centered care, and it's growing academic reputation in East Texas. The program offers a unique opportunity to serve a diverse and often underserved population, allowing him to make a meaningful impact while gaining comprehensive clinical exposure across a broad spectrum of hemalogic and oncologic conditions. His home town is in Gujarat, India. Fun facts about Vishrut are he loves exploring the outdoors and often spends his weekends hiking new trails. He also enjoys long scenic drives-they help him relax and reset."

She chose this program because during her interview, the faculty all seemed welcoming and she appreciated the strength of training she would recieve in this underserved area. Her hometown is Houston, Texas. Fun facts about her are she considers herself a third culture kid: ethnically from Pakistan, born and raised the first half of my life in the US, lived the second half of my life in Saudi Arabia, and now she is back here in the US!"
